Voting on the Internet

My first day on the job and the servers went down. I was really worried about getting them back online since I had not had too much time to look at them prior to getting hired as the new technician last week. I had to finish out the week at my old job installing used poweredge servers and it was a very long week.

I had decided to change companies, when this one with more pay, better benefits and better hours came available. My wife really pushed me to apply and I ended up getting it.

I headed on down to the storage room where the servers were and could not believe that they were all poweredge servers. The last week of installing the used servers at my old job was going to pay off. I knew the insides and outs of these used poweredge servers and would have no trouble fixing these as long as they were still in good working order.

When it took me less than thirty minutes to get the servers back online, my new boss told me that they had never gotten up and running any sooner than a day or two with their old technician. It made me feel good to have my little secret of having installed ten used servers of the same make and model only about four days earlier.

The only thing left to buy for our new office is some servers. I know that there is no way we can afford to purchase any new ones but I have heard of a website that sells used hp servers that have been refurbished. I figured that the site would be our best bet in getting some quality used proliant servers.

I put my computer guy in charge of the whole thing since I had no idea what kind of used hp servers to get and what is a good enough price. He was more than happy to jump on it and order what we would need. He was glad that I had given him the chance to choose some used proliant servers since he was very comfortable and knowledgeable with that certain model.

He chose some used proliant servers that were priced really low but they were still guaranteed and they were refurbished, unlike the others we had seen online that were just used and had not been cleaned up and restored back to a somewhat new state.

I hope to open the new office at the end of the month, the used hp servers are set to arrive in about two days and as soon as my computer guy can install them, then we can start entering all the new computer stuff into everyone’s systems.

I keep checking the website for the Scottsdale adult basketball league to see when the new season is going to begin but it is not up yet. I am thinking that maybe I may look into going somewhere else if they do not begin soon. I have played on the Scottsdale basketball league for many years and enjoy it. It seems to be the only one that is really organized and I would like to stay there.

I have tried to make some phone calls to the club that organizes the Scottsdale adult basketball league every year but they have no more information and have just directed me to check the website every day and when they had more information, they would post it on there. I am giving them about another two weeks and then I am looking for a different club that has coed basketball.

I use the Scottsdale basketball league to stay in shape in the winter time, and without it, I can fell all my hard work that I put in during the summer time slipping away. I just need somewhere to play and have some fun while exercising at the same time. I discussed this with a couple of friends and they are all willing to put together our own team and just practice until the league starts.

My one thing that I remember from having slumber parties with my cousins was the footie pajamas that we would all wear. I guess that since we were only about six years old and lived way up north where sometimes you did not leave the house for days if a big snowstorm came through, it made sense to be all bundled up.

I wanted to get my sisters and cousins something for Christmas that would remind them of all the fun we used to have. I bought each of them some footie pajamas that I found in adult sizes online. I also got them each a different board game, just like the ones that we used to play for hours at a time.

I sent off the packages early enough in the month that I knew they would get them before the holidays. I think that they all made it to their destinations about the same day since I got five calls all within four hours of each other. My one cousin told me that every time she walks by the toddler pajamas section and sees the footie pajamas she thinks of those slumber parties. I invited all of them to come out where I live and bring their new pajamas along and we could have an old fashioned slumber party like we used to do.

My final thing to do for the day was to get the office supplies order faxed over to the warehouse. I had been working on it all day and had to stop when we had a copy machine disaster. I had to stop putting the order together and start working on getting the copy machine company there quickly to fix it. It took two hours once the repair man got there to get it back up and running.

I then took my lunch and was trying to get myself psyched up to get back to work and finish up the order that they office supply company would be waiting on. They knew that the order was coming, and they had to get it all ready to be shipped overnight, so I am sure that one of them will be working late tonight, just as I am.

Two additional hours of figuring out what office supplies were needed for the next week. I finished at about seven and faxed it to the office supply company with a note explaining how sorry I was for getting it to them so late. I did get a return fax back, that explained that it was okay and that they had lots of late orders , so I should not feel too bad.

Some of the most confusing things for me to understand are politics and life insurance. Let’s discuss the later for now and that is life insurance. I have no clue what the different types of life insurance are so I decided to do some reading to try and figure it out.

To the best of my ability, I see life insurance rates as very up and down depending on where you go. I do notice that there are some good life insurance rates online so that might be a good place to start. I read that guaranteed life insurance is for people with medical conditions that go get life insurance despite their health.

Sometimes this guaranteed life insurance is referred to as no medical exam life insurance for obvious reasons. It is for people that will not get accepted otherwise but the premiums will be higher as well. Then there is fully underwritten life insurance for those in good health. They have to undergo a full blown physical exam and blood work before they are accepted.

Once they do get acceptance they will usually have some really good life insurance rates since they are in such good health. This is typically better for younger people. I have a lot more to read up on but for now I think that might help someone to understand life insurance better.

The final thing that made me realize that I needed to stop all the bad press was when my mother saw something online about me. She called to ask me how anyone would even know this about me but I just had to tell her that it was not true. I of course, knew that I had done it, but could not tell my mother that.

I called ReputationManagers.com who had helped my friend out of a similar situation and asked them if there was any way they could start to somehow squash the bad press that I was getting all of a sudden. They put together a plan of how to stop these bad blogs, articles and pictures from showing up at the top of the search engines. I noticed a decrease in calls and emails from my friends regarding them about two weeks later.

I am hoping that I can keep myself out of trouble for a while, so that I do not have to call on ReputationManagers.com to get me out of that kind of situation again, and I bet that they are too.

I had a big list of things to order that my boss handed to me this morning. He had given the green light to the accounting department to pay for all of it. I knew that pretty much everything could be ordered online but my boss wanted to support the local businesses, so I had to drive around all afternoon trying to find the things on the list.

Ninety percent of the list consisted of used cisco parts. I wondered why we were buying used, when I knew that we could afford to buy new parts. The first two cisco repair shops that I visited did not have anything on my list. I was pretty upset with them and asked them how they stayed in business if they did not have what the customers needed.

I then found three other cisco repair shops that helped me to cross off four things from the list. I decided to head back to the office and complete the rest of the buying of used cisco parts online. I thought that what the boss did not know would not hurt him. I found everything I needed on the first site I found and it will all be in tomorrow.
