I know a guy that has a nice website for his service business that he owns in the big city. He incorporated one of the PhpBB forum templates into his site to create new pages so he might rank for some more keywords that he was not targeting with his website alone.

At first I thought he was a nut but after a few months I started to see his PhpBB forum popping up in the search engines here and there. I did not know that you could manipulate the title of a forum post to hit on keywords that might make it rank for some terms you are not ranking for already. He said he did know that and that is why he added the forum.

Now he has upgraded to the newer version PhpBB3 templates so he has the latest and greatest of options to use and the spam blocker is much better which helps weed out useless robots and spammers.

One time he took me into the administration panel of his PhpBB forum templates and then the newer PhpBB3 templates and I definitely like the newer one better. As it has more features and stuff. As far as a user on the forum there is little difference in the two so do not be afraid to upgrade if you are on the older version of PhpBB.
